Youth Volunteering

Does your child dream of becoming a zookeeper when they grow up? Do they love helping out and learning new skills? Is your child passionate about animals and between the ages of 11 & 13?

If you’ve answered yes to any of the above then you should come volunteer with your child at our facility through our Youth Volunteering program!

Our Youth program is a great way for parents/guardians to work side by side their child and learn all about what it takes to be a zookeeper. You will be paired with a Staff Member or Level 3/4 Volunteer to guide you through your tasks and answer any questions you may have while completing your tasks. Youth volunteers may come out for a maximum of 4 hours during our open hours. Parents/guardians must accompany their child during the entire time volunteering at our facility.*

To learn what it means to be a volunteer here at North Texas Animal Connections please click on the button below. You will be redirected to our Volunteering Page.

If interested please send an email to cs@gentlezoo.com. In the subject line please type “Youth Volunteering”, and in the body please include both the child’s & who will be volunteering with the child full names, both DOBs, and the reason you and your child wishes to volunteer with us.

*You and your child will be given tasks that both of you will work on together. You may not drop off & pick up for this program. If you do not stay with your child throughout the duration of your stay you and your child will not be allowed back out to volunteer. Thank you for your understanding.
